   Maya Angelou said this and I agree with her…

      

   I’ve learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today,

   life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

 

   I’ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he / 

   she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and

   tangled Christmas tree lights.

 

   I’ve learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents,

   you’ll miss them when they’re gone from your life.

 

   I’ve learned that making a ‘living’ is not the same thing as ‘making a life.

 

   I’ve learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

 

   I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on

   both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back.

 

   I’ve learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart,

   I usually make the right decision.

 

   I’ve learned that even when I have pains, I don’t have to be one.

 

   I’ve learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone.

   People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.

 

   I’ve learned that I still have a lot to learn.

 

   I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will

   forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them

   feel.

Yes. This I agree with Maya as well. Maya, Ghandi, and a few wise or unwise people in history have made me sit back and think on their actions and look in the mirror at myself. I’m just now appreciating who I am more this year because I’m not only learning to follow advice from others this late in life, I’m following my own advice as well which is what I should have done a long time ago. All that second guessing over the years was hectic at first, but thinking back on it makes me smile because it made me take risks and without consequences to our actions whether good or bad—how can we learn? I’m 31, but I feel as wise as my mother these days. Use to get angry about what mom tried to expalin to me, but now I know she was only trying to protect me from her past mistakes. I’m proud of us both and proud of you Niko for continuing your journey to grow. You are also one of those people that appear at a magical moment when things seem lost, like an angel in a forest in the night time guiding someone home. Your words give hope and that hope could easily stand for “home”.

The rare thing about you, Niko, is that you are truly an “old soul.” I’m sure you have heard that throughout your life by those who recognize it in you. What makes you even more special is the extent to which you give your love away so freely to everyone; “love is like water” as you so beautifully told Alicia in your song to her. It truly is just that, like water, but too few people realize that truth. Thank you for every little thing you do, Niko. You enrich all of our lives and we are incredibly lucky to know you in any way. I mean that.

Someone sent me an e-mail regarding what Maya learned. I truly agreed with all that Maya said, and I thank you for sharing it with everyone. I’m old enough to know about things learned. If one goes through life and learn nothing then that person or persons are still struggling in the sea of darkness.
Everything begins with you, you make the choices in your life. So you make the choice of whether or not you have learned from all the experiences that you go through!

The sun rises in the East . .
Brightening the heavens with colors . . .
The dew glistens on the lawn . . .
Shining in the early dawn!
I learned the beauty of a new day being born . .

Life leads you on a journey . . .
From sunrise to sunset . . .
Each moment is a blessing of love . . .
From the heavens up above . . .
I learned that the heavens blesses my life . . .
As long as I open up and see!

Each new day brings many obstacles . . .
If you choose to allow it to be an obstacles . .
See beyond and make the right choice . . .
Remember what you choose to happen . . .

Then there will be no obstacle . . .
I learn to think of cause and effect . . .

Reading your list of what you have learned is one that I can also connect too! However the most important thing that I have learned is that there is a God and without his gift of life, learning process, faith, understanding, caring, knowledge, sharing unconditionally and total love “where would we be now! We must love all unconditionally know matter how difficult some people may make it hard to love them, just love as Jesus loved all of us and died for us. Today they want God out of our schools, and everything else that they can try and get him out of but he cannot take him out of each of us and without his presence in us how could we learn anything, he gifts of the gift of music and the beauty of nature. Yes I agree too… I’ve learned something too from Krishnamurti: live here and now, look at everything with the child view, with innocence, it’s the best way to be really yourself, without the bad mémorys from the past and the worrys about the futur. Don’t think too much about the past and the futur, it’s like you loosing yourself, because you’re are in the present : right now, you are not the person you was yesterday and you are even not the person you’ll be tomorrow.
