World of Expectations
Stand naked, bare to the world
"Go ahead perform, little girl!"
What her eyes see cannot be erased
Only traced by the dead memory of his
Now shadowed, face.
When you breathed the breath of life
You took it for granted
What was being whispered before
Is now being chanted
Loudly, as you look to the sky
Fear is what he left in your eyes
Deranged, ashamed we are now
Hopeless wonderer, you stand about
The silent whispers are calling my name
I'm lost in their world
"Go ahead perform, little girl."
-----------------------------------------
Basically, no matter what you have been through in your life, no matter how much you have died inside because of it, you are still expected to "perform, little girl." Sure, what makes you fall down to your lowest point, will be the same thing that picks you back up on your feet and makes you stronger. But until it makes you stronger, you are just a "little (inexperienced) girl" yet the world will not back down, or give you any slack during the hard times. And you must learn this and fast! My breaking point was at my old school. I was getting shit from home, and when I came to school it was all worse. When you are in constant chaos , you break down. I was having personal problems, but did anyone care? NO! "I belonged in school" When I got to school, did anyone care? NO! "I belonged with the outcasts" And while all of this is happening, you begin to lose yourself. And if you are not prepared, like I wasn't, then you might do something you regret. Later I learned this next piece of advice: Know that even in your darkest days, society won't be there to give you sympathy, so don't expect it. If you know this now, I believe you will be able to rise above anything that may break you down. Because you already know what will happen, and the carelessness of the world won't ever catch you off guard. The world expects everything from me yet I expect nothing from the world.
