Metaphorically Dying
How can you love someone so much and hate them so badly at the same time? When you speak with them you are at your most peaceful, but so aggravated and anxious all at once. You make excuses for their ignorant behavior, soon finding yourself drowning in every sense of ridicule. Ridicule from not only everyone pointing their fingers and laughing at you, but from your own self who you find out was the only one laughing. You soon become a disgrace, ashamed you will always be. How could you let yourself go? What kind of monster are you? What kind of dragon was he? The dragon that guarded the castle, because he knew no other way. You were really the princess locked away but could only view yourself as some kind of failure from the dragons lies and deceit. His selfish behavior ruined you and you will never be truly free. You are the dragon, and the princess; one in the same. Because it is your destiny to be freed from the castle and become a heartless wonderer who will only find comfort in becoming what we are all destined to be: The Dragon.
