Journey Within neem die luisteraar op ‘n veraf reis, diep na jou binneste, na ‘n plek wat nog altyd daar was.
Daar is deesdae so baie faktore wat ‘n mens verhinder om die mees belangrik-ste dinge in die lewe – vergewing, eer, respek, geduld, vriendelikheid, geloof, hoop en liefde – raak te sien en te waardeer. Ek het gevind dat dit vir my help om eers hierdie opbouende “geraas” in my binneste te stil voordat ek werklik hierdie vrugte van die gees duidelik kan raaksien en kan waardeer.
Indien daar iets is wat jou hinder, sal hierdie album jou instaat stel om dit te ver-dryf. As daar ‘n gehardheid aan jou is, sal dié album dit soos was in ‘n vuur laat smelt. Journey Within is daarop gemik om jou siel te reinig en te verfris, van binne én buite. Dit val beslis in die moderne genre, maar dit bevat ook elemente wat by ander musiekvelde aansluiting vind. Hierdie album moenie as ‘n album met ‘n deurlopende tema of klank gesien word nie, maar eerder as deurdagte, melodiese bewegings in verskeie rigtings: oseaan tot hemelruim; siel tot gees. Dit kan dus gesien word as musiek wat fokus op introspeksie sowel as innerlike ontleding.
Journey Within is nie heeltemal so misterieus soos Enya nie en ook nie heelte-mal so kontemporêr soos Yanni nie. Journey Within is iets tussen meditatiewe gedagtes, selfbewustheid en spirituele vervulling.
