Το ποτήρι μου ξεχειλίζει.
Σε όλη μου την ζωή άκουγα την ερώτηση « Βλέπεις το ποτήρι μισοάδειο ή μισογεμάτο»? Το βράδυ της 20ης Αυγούστου 2007, συνηδητοποίησα για πρώτη φορά πως δεν θα δώ ποτέ ξανά το ποτήρι ως μισογεμάτο αλλά θα το βλέπω να ξεχειλίζει! Σε όλα αυτά που είμαι και σε όλα αυτά που κάνω απο εδώ και στο εξής, θα βλέπω πάντα το ποτήρι να ξεχειλίζει! Θα δώ και θα ζήσω την ζωή με το αίσθημα της ευλογίας και της αφθονίας. Το ποτήρι μου ξεχειλίζει και όλα αυτά που τρέχουν απο μέσα του είναι για όποιον μπορεί να τα δεχτεί. Για παράδειγμα, τα τραγούδια που μοιράζομαι με το κοινό είναι μία χούφτα μπροστά στα τραγούδια που συνθέτω και τραγουδάω όταν είμαι ολομόναχος σε μια επικοινωνία με τον Θεό.Το τραγούδι “ The Sun The Moon The Stars” είναι αυτό που βγαίνει απο το ποτήρι μου, το “Illusion”, “The Exodus”, “Aliesha Shine”, “Together Forever Whenever”, “Kali Spera”, είναι αυτά που βγαίνουν απο το ποτήρι μου.Σε ενθαρρύνω να δείς την ζωή μ’αυτόν τον τρόπο, να δείς το ποτήρι να ξεχειλίζει. Πές αυτό που βλέπεις και θα δείς αυτό που είπες. Δές το ποτήρι να ξεχειλίζει και θα δείς αυτό που δίδαξε ο Ιησούς. “Ζήτα και θα λάβεις, Αναζήτησε και θα βρείς, Χτύπα και η πόρτα θα ανοίξει”.
Να είσαι υπομονετικός.
Μπορεί να πάρει καιρό μέχρι να δείς να παραγματοποιείτε το όνειρό σου στην γή. Ίσως να υπάρχουν κάποια πράγματα που πρέπει να μάθεις πρώτα, κάποιες περιοχές που θα χρειαστεί να μείνεις και να ωριμάσεις, κάποιες υποχρεώσεις που πρέπει να τακτοποιήσεις. Κάποιος δεν πραγματοποιεί το όνειρό του να γίνει γιατρός αν πρώτα δεν τελειώσει την ιατρική σχολή και δεν κάνει την απαραίτητη πράκτική εξάσκηση. Όπως κάποιος άλλος δεν δίνει παράσταση στην αρένα αν πρώτα δεν έχει κάνει χιλιάδες φορές εξάσκηση μόνος του ή δίνωντας παράστάσεις σε μικρότερο κοινό. Θέλω να πώ πως όλα αυτά που νομίζεις οτι σε κρατάνε πίσω απο την ολοκλήρωση του ονείρου σου, στην πραγματικότητα είναι μέρος αυτού! Δεν μπορείς να φτάσεις στην κορυφή της σκάλας απο το πρώτο βήμα.
Να θυμάσαι πάντα πως το ταξίδι είναι εξίσου σημαντικό με τον προορισμό! Μήν περιφρονείς το ταξίδι, ακόμα κι αν χρειαστούν 50 χρόνια μέχρι να φτάσεις στον προρισμό! Αυτό συναίβη με τον μάνατζέρ μου, John, ο οποίος δούλευε και ονειρευόταν σε όλη του την ζωή για να δοκιμάσει και να δεί αυτό που μόλις προβάλλεται μπροστά στα μάτια του! Το όνειρό σου είναι κάθε μέρα, και ναί μια μέρα θα φτάσεις σε ένα συγκεκριμμένο μέρος ολοκλήρωσης και θα πείς, “ Το όνειρό μου πραγματοποιήθηκε!” αλλά τότε θα βρείς να κυνηγήσεις κάποιο άλλο όνειρο, οπότε απόλαυσε το ταξίδι. Κάθε βήμα, κάθε μέρα, κάθε στιγμή, όσο επώδυνο ή προκλητικό είναι, απόλαυσε την διαδρομή!
Στο νησί Maui υπάρχει ένα μέρος που λέγεται Hana. Πολλοί άνθρωποι ακούνε για την Hana και ανυπομονούν να πάνε μόνο και μόνο για να ανακαλύψουν στο τέλος πως δεν υπάρχει τίποτα εκεί! Είναι η ΔΙΑΔΡΟΜΗ για την Hana που είναι μαγική, είναι οι 700 στροφές στον δρόμο, οι καταρράκτες κατά μήκος του δρόμου, τα δέντρα με τα φρούτα, η θέα του ωκεανού και του τροπικού δάσους! Αν ο στόχος σου είναι μόνο να φτάσεις στην Hana, τότε η άφιξή σου δεν θα έχει τόση σημασία. Αντίθετα αν ο στόχος σου είναι να χαρείς την διαδρομή, τότε θα πείς σε όλους όπως όλοι είπαν σε εσένα, “Πρέπει να πάς στην Hana!”
Η προσωπική μου αναζήτησή
Προσωπικά, για να γίνω αυτό που πραγματικά ήμουν και για να πραγματοποιήσω το όνειρό μου, χρειάστηκε να φύγω απο το “Σπίτι του Μπαμπά” που σημαίνει οτι έπρεπε να αφήσω την άνεση και την οικογενειακή θαλπωρή. Η άνεση και η οικογενειακή θαλπωρή συστήνουν ένα συγκεκριμμένο είδος διαβίωσης που μπορεί να είναι θετικό ή αρνητικό. Στην περίπτωσή μου υπήρχαν πολλά πράγματα απο τα οποία έπρεπε να ξεφύγω και να αρνηθώ.- όπως οι άνθρώποι και οι γελοίες προσδοκίες τους, προγραμματισμούς και ‘ολους τους παράλογους κανόνες και κανονισμούς τους, τις δουλειές, την μονότονη ρουτίνα τους, κ.λπ.
Για ‘μένα ήταν τόσο ακραίο που ένιωσα ακόμη πως πρέπει να αλλάξω το όνομά μου! Ξεκίνησα με το Οδυσσέας, την ελληνική εκδοχή του μεσαίου ονόματός μου. Ήταν τόσο απελευθερωτικό και πολύ cool! Δεν με ήξερε κανείς, δεν μου έκανε κριτική κανείς, δεν με έκρινε κανείς με βάση το παρελθόν μου. Ήταν ακριβώς αυτό που χρειαζόμουν. Ένιωσα την δύναμη όσο ποτέ άλλοτε να είμαι ο ΕΑΥΤΟΣ ΜΟΥ! Ο πραγματικός εαυτός μου! Αυτός που πραγματικά ήμουν! Ένιωσα οτι αναπνέω! Άφησα τα μαλλιά μου μακριά για πρώτη φορά! Έβαψα τα νύχια μου μαύρα και φόρεσα σκουλαρίκια για πρώτη φορά! Έμεινα ξύπνιος όλη την νύχτα συνθέτοντας μουσική ξανά και ξανά!!! Αγόρασα 20 κουτιά των αγαπημένων μου “ανθυγιεινών” δημητριακών και τα έφαγα όλα όσο πιο γρήγορα μπορούσα!! 10 φορές οδήγησα 1000 μίλια για να παρακολουθήσω εβδομαδιαία σεμινάρια που παρότρυναν ανθρώπους να είναι ειλικρινής στον εαυτό τους και και να ολοκληρώσουν το πεπρωμένο που τους έδωσε ο Θεός! Σε όλα αυτά, ο πολεμιστής και ο καλλιτέχνης που υπάρχει μέσα μου με έκανε να ξυπνήσω και τελικά να αφήσω πίσω όλους τους φόβους - ο φόβος του ανθρώπου με την κριτική του, τον φόβο της απόριψης μου…Για πρώτη φορά στην ζωή μου δεν με ένοιαζε τι σκέφτονταν οι άλλοι για ‘μένα εκτός απο έναν : Τον Θεό. Αν ο Θεός ήταν εντάξει μαζί μου , ήταν το μόνο που ήθελα να ξέρω , όλα τα άλλα δεν είχαν μεγάλη σημασία.Ο καμβάς μου ήταν λευκός και άρχισα να ζωγραφίζω όπως ακριβώς ονειρευόμουν πάντα! ΠΟΛΥΧΡΩΜΟΣ και ΑΛΗΘΙΝΟΣ!
Η αναζήτησή σας
Για κάθε έναν, είναι διαφορετικό. “Η αναζήτηση” σίγουρα δεν περιλαμβάνει πάντα την μετακόμιση κάπου αλλού αλλά σίγουρα περιλαμβάνει να κάνεις κάτι διαφορετικό.Δεν μπορείς να κάνεις το ίδιο πράγμα ξανά και ξανά και να περιμένεις διαφορετικά αποτελέσματα. Αν ανακατέψεις μισό νερό με μισό χυμό θα έχεις πάντα το ίδιο ποτό. Αν θέλεις να ανακαλύψεις κάτι που αναζητάς, τότε θα πρέπει να κάνεις κάτι που δεν έχεις κάνει ποτέ ξανά!
Επιτυχία
Μην αξιολογείς την επιτυχία με το νομισματικό κέρδος ή από το πώς σε βλέπουνε οι άλλοι, αξιολόγησε την επιτυχία κάθε ημέρας από το εάν είσαι ή όχι αληθινός στον εαυτό σου, από το εάν περπατάς ή όχι προς την αγάπη. Μια ημέρα αλήθειας και αγάπης είναι η επιτυχέστερη ημέρα που μπορεί να ζήσει κανείς. Η μητέρα Τερέζα έζησε αναμφισβήτητα μια πολύ επιτυχημένη ζωή. Η ζωή δεν είναι αυτό που έχεις , είναι αυτό που δίνεις.
Να είσαι ειλικρινής με τον εαυτό σου.
Είμαι άτομο που ενθαρρύνει τους ανθρώπους να ακολουθήσουν την καρδιά και τα όνειρά τους αλλά είναι απαραίτητο οι άνθρωποι να είναι ειλικρινείς με τον εαυτό τους. Για παράδειγμα, εάν δεν έχεις ούτε ένα αθλητικό κόκκαλο στο σώμα σου τότε ίσως να πρέπει να ξανασκεφτείς το “όνειρό” του να γίνεις ο επόμενος Michael Jordan. 
Αυτό είναι φαντασία και όχι όνειρο.Υπάρχει ΜΕΓΑΛΗ διαφορά μεταξύ του ονείρου και της φαντασίας, μην τα μπερδεύεις. Έχω δεί μερικούς ανθρώπους στο American Idol που δεν μπορούσαν να βγάλουν ούτε έναν τόνο, για αυτό το άτομο μια σταδιοδρομία στο τραγούδι είναι παράλογη. Πάντα ήθελα να γίνω καλλιτέχνης ( με μολύβια και χρώματα ) αλλά δεν έχω ΚΑΝΕΝΑ φυσικό ταλέντο γι’αυτό.Μετά βίας μπορώ να φτιάξω μια φιγούρα! Θα ήταν τρελλό να ακολουθήσω ένα τέτοιο πράγμα όταν μου είναι προφανές ότι αυτό δεν είναι το δώρο του Θεού για ‘μένα. Πάντα μου άρεσε η γυμναστική και θα ήθελα πολύ να συμμετέχω σε αυτήν, στην πραγματικότητα ο παγκοσμίως διάσημος προπονητής Bela Karolyi της χρυσού ολυμπιονίκη Νadia Comaneci και της Mary Lou Retton είχε το προσωπικό του γυμναστήριο κοντά στο σπίτι όπου μεγάλωσα, αλλά δεν είχα το φυσικό ταλέντο για αυτήν, δεν ήταν το δώρο μου.
Συμπερασματικό Ερώτημα
Έχω μια ερώτηση για σας - τι είναι αυτό που μπορείτε να κάνετε αβίαστα; Στάσου και σκέψου το ΠΡΑΓΜΑΤΙΚΑ. Μπορείς να γράψεις; Μπορείς να μαγειρέψεις; Είσαι καλός με τους αριθμούς; Είσαι καλός στο να εστιάζεις την σκέψη σου σε ένα πράγμα όλη την ημέρα; Καλός στην οργάνωση; Καλός στην οδήγηση; Είσαι καλός με τα μηχανικά πράγματα και με τη χρησιμοποίηση των χεριών σου; Αγαπάς να είσαι γύρω από τους ανθρώπους; Αγαπάς να ταξιδεύεις; Μιλάς πολλές γλώσσες; Απολαμβάνεις το διάβασμα; Αγαπάς τη φύση; Τα Ζώα; Σκέφτεσαι πάντα ιδέες για νέες επιχειρήσεις; Σε βεβαιώνω ότι τα πράγματα που έρχονται σε εσένα τόσο φυσικά δεν έρχονται φυσικά στον καθένα Ανακάλυψε ποιά είναι τα χαρίσματά σου και έπειτα άρχισε να οδεύεις προς αυτά και φυσικά θα αρχίσεις να εκπληρώνεις τα όνειρά σου.
Τώρα είναι η Στιγμή!
Μπορείς να αλλάξεις την ζωή σου σήμερα!Τώρα, σε μια στιμή! Απο ΕΣΕΝΑ εξαρτάται και κανέναν άλλον! Είναι η ζωή σου, η μέρα σου, η επιλογή σου! Πώς? Με μια απλή απόφαση. Βλέπεις, οι περισσότεροι άνθρωποι πιστεύουν οτι η αλλαγή είναι κάτι που μπορείς να δείς με τα μάτια σου και να αγγίξεις με τα χέρια σου, αλλά η αλήθεια είναι οτι η αλλαγή συμβαίνει ΜΕΣΑ ΜΑΣ! Η αλλαγή είναι μια ΑΠΟΦΑΣΗ! Δεν βασίζεται σε εξωτερικούς παράγοντες – δεν έχει σημασία που μένεις, πόσο πλούσιος ή φτωχός είσαι, πόσο χρονών είσαι, κλπ. Είσαι άνθρωπος, είσαι όμορφος, είσαι ανεκτίμητος, η ζωή σου είναι δώρο Θεού! Αποφάσισε σήμερα πως θα είσαι ΕΙΛΙΚΡΙΝΗΣ ΜΕ ΤΟΝ ΕΑΥΤΟ ΣΟΥ. Αποφάσισε σήμερα οτι πάντα θα ΔΙΝΕΙΣ και πάντα ΘΑ ΚΙΝΗΣΕ ΣΤΑ ΧΝΑΡΙΑ ΤΗΣ ΑΓΑΠΗΣ. Αποφάσισε σήμερα οτι θα ΕΚΠΛΗΡΩΣΕΙΣ ΤΟΝ ΣΚΟΠΟ ΣΟΥ! Αποφάσισε σήμερα οτι θα ΑΚΟΛΟΥΘΗΣΕΙΣ ΤΟ ΟΝΕΙΡΟ ΣΟΥ! ~ ΝΙΚΟ

The speed of our world is increasing. Faster transportation, computers, fast-food,pushing children to do things they may not be developmentally ready for….the message seems to be whatever I want, I want it NOW. It’s easy to see how one might get caught up in the whirlwind of instant gratification. Patience is forgotten while stuck in traffic, or standing in line, or waiting for something to arrive. Anger and frustration emerge, smiles fade, and the chance to learn from the situation is lost.
In pursuing happiness, one needs to search inside. It’s not the buying and taking that will ultimately bring us happiness; it’s the giving of ourselves, our time, our talents, our love.
I have learned that time is not mine to decide. God decides. And if the faith is strong, and patience is practiced, we won’t be misguided. In following our dreams, we do our part to make it happen, but the Divine leads us to the arrival. Along the journey, we can discover beautiful and fascinating events no matter how small.
I like to sing with others. The union of voices and the harmony of sounds awakens my very being. There is a private college where I live, and people in the community, as well as college students, perform in a chorus. I have been in it before, but hadn’t in the past two years. I thought about doing it again, but was indecisive about it. I told myself I’d keep an open mind about it and look for a “sign” as to whether or not to commit.
On the day of the first practice, I hadn’t slept much the night before. So, I easily talked myself out of it, and I didn’t go. Then the second practice came, and I thought since I wasn’t too excited about it, and there’d been no “sign” to go, I considered it to be another year without being involved. But, on the third week, I got an email from the director asking for former members to come. I took that as a direct sign, and went last night. I’m so glad I did, because the music we’ll be singing is awesome. Had I not paid attention, I would have missed out.
On a bigger scale, I am pursuing a dream, now. It’s a slow process because fear keeps rearing it’s ugly face and transforms itself into an obstacle. I fight it when I remember the verse, “…all things are possible through Christ who strengthenth me”….
It’s people like Niko we need to surround ourselves and keep in our life. Positive. Faithful. Loving. Kind. We may not change the tempo of our fast-paced society, but we may have an impact on one person, then another, and another.. Patience. Believe.
I also believe that the journey is what’s important, but do not always keep that in the forefront of my mind. I thank God that you, Nikko have been placed in my life along with other kindred souls to take me back to that belief when I stray. I feel so blessed to be a child of God and connected to others who share their feelings,hopes and dreams. You are so blessed to stay focuses on your dreams. May you always be happy and blessed in what you do,God loves you so, and so do I
There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under Heaven… I try to live by this principle and I think it somehow fits in whay you’ve written.
Do you know the song “You raise me up” by “Celtic woman”? That’s exactly my emotions

If you want to climb a tree, why not climb it?
If you want to go barefoot in the rain, who says you shouldn’t?
If you want to eat a sweet juicy nectarine, eat it.
And in how many ways can you give happiness, even a little bit of it? Begin now. Who needs a gift of happiness now? Perhaps you can give it. Give it generously at no cost to your hide.
Fairy tales are full of stories where the older brothers refused to share his lunch with a little old man or woman on their travels. The youngest simpleton son shares his lunch, however, and he wins the princess and the castle. The simpleton son does not share with a reward in mind. He shares because he cannot not share. Simple innocence shares. It counts neither costs nor reward. Innocence is too simple to think there may not be enough to go around. Innocence knows no lack.
Is ampleness a part of your happiness? Certainly, it is harder to be happy when you think of lack. Certainly, thinking of all you have been thinking about does not make you happy. Why then think about lack when you can think about what you do have? Appreciate that which is yours to appreciate. Is appreciation a part of happiness?
Is a sense of peace also part of your happiness? Certainly, war-torn thoughts do not bring you happiness. Be done with such thoughts. Accrue peace to you. Sink into the peace that surpasseth all understanding.
I think newness brings you some happiness. Something you learn. Something you never did before.
That which brings you happiness does not have to be a massive thing. The little things will do. The thing is, beloveds, you are not to wait for happiness. You are to discover it now. Find it where it is, and declare it. Be a discoverer of happiness in all the likely and unlikely places. Actually, there is really only one place you find happiness, and that is in your heart. Open your heart now, and you will find all the treasures of happiness you have been seeking. Happiness has been seeking you, beloveds. It wishes to be found. Find it now.

This is the third time I have read your writing of Pursue Your Dreams and I wanted to let you know what an encouragement it has been to me yet again. Your writing contains such depth and has resounded in the deepest parts of me. The image of the glass pouring over will stay with me for the rest of my life. Through this thought comes the realization that anything can be accomplished with a pouring out of all you have which will bring an overflow into the things you do, the lives of others around you and so much more….and you are so right about love. Wonder why it’s so hard to feel and show when it is one of the most important things in life.

Thanks for the email forward. I read your blog entry on pursuing your dream and was very empowered by it. You listed an example of being a medical doctor in there, but having to go through all the years of school and training to get there.
I am currently in Veterinary School, and have several more years to go….I am enjoying every moment of it, though. It is hard, it will test you to limits you had never been tested to before! It requires such brain power, obligation, and determination in order to get through the program. I do realize, as you stated, that this is all part of the dream. I am glad you are writing that to others out there that don’t realize they should enjoy every day for what it is, because there is always a dream that you are trying to reach. If you don’t enjoy the journeys getting there, you won’t ever enjoy life at all or you will have to settle for a life without dreams to strive for. I think a life with dreams trumps any other life possible.
I was needing to hear these pretty words Niko I think that was an angel who asked for that I entered here to read this pretty message I need to make a choice and perhaps I can make a wrong choice but I will always try.

I was insipired by NIKO. Everything he said and touched upon is so true. I myself I’m pursuing my dream of being a dancer. I faced so many challenges, and at some point felt like giving up and doing something else. As Niko said it’s a natrual gift I have and intense passion for dance that it just wont leave me alone, plus I’m at my most happiest when I’m dancing. I dream of dancing and acting and singing in some big production on broadway. I have studied musical theatre and desire to have a successful performing arts school also.
I know we live in difficult times and there is alot of uncertinity, but I believe as Niko said, these are times you discover God and trust in him alone, he will steer you in the right path and help you to get were he has already destined for you.
So just like me and as Niko is doing, push hard for your dream, no matter what dont give up!! be true to onself and trust God, You’re destined to succeed.

Pursue Your Dream is like a guiding star. It gives me the right way to success and proper understanding of success and life. I just came out from a company which was doing illegal business yesterday. For me, people around all like liars. When I want to search for a new job on the internet, I feel like that I will drop to another scope. I fear about the companies like a kid losing my way. My heart calm down as I read the blog posed by Niko Pursue Your Dream. How to be good to yourself? With love, patience, truth etc. One should always listen to the deep voice in his mind. I love traveling and the study of language. Why not hang around some place or save some money to see what the western world is like. Yes, though the company I stayed in is bad, but the experience I learnt there is priceless. I thank God giving me such a chance to face myself and change my life. Pursue my dream is what the most important! Keep moving! Once I was a teacher in middle school with a class of lovely students. I gave it up for much more challenge life. That’s my dream. Everybody has his dream. No matter how slight the dream is, it does exist. Fighting, Lily, I say to myself. Just like Niko says, Pursue Your Dream!
